This website sets no cookies, uses no tracking or analytics and loads nothing from third parties. Fonts, images and the world map are served from my own server. Only shortened server logs are kept, for 7 days – details below.

The website runs on a server operated by myself in the data centre of Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany, location Falkenstein (FSN1). Data is processed in Germany only. A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place with Hetzner.

With every request your browser technically has to send data to the server. The access log stores:

• your IP address – shortened before it is stored (IPv4: last byte, IPv6: everything after the first 48 bits), so it cannot be traced back to your connection
• date and time, requested address, HTTP status code and amount of data transferred
• the previously visited page (referrer), if your browser sends it, as well as browser and operating system (user agent)

If technical errors occur, the web server may additionally write an entry with the full IP address to the error log. Both logs are used solely for secure operation and error analysis and are deleted automatically after 7 days. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR; my legitimate interest is the secure and stable operation of the website.

No cookies are set. Only if you actively choose a language via the language switch (or lang in the terminal) or dismiss the language hint, the site stores this choice as voit.lang in your browser's localStorage, so you get the right language on your next visit. The value never leaves your browser. The legal basis is § 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG (strictly necessary for a function you requested). You can delete it at any time via your browser's site data.

If you write to me or call me, I process your details (e.g. name, e-mail address or phone number and the content of your message) solely to answer your request (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR) and delete them once they are no longer needed for that purpose.

The site links to external profiles (e.g. LinkedIn, Xing) and projects. Data is only transferred to these providers once you click a link; from then on their privacy policies apply.

You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18) and data portability (Art. 20), and you may object to processing based on Art. 6 (1) (f) (Art. 21). An informal message is sufficient.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example the one responsible for me, the Saxon Data Protection and Transparency Commissioner.
